This week Hurtwood Film Academy welcomed acclaimed cinematographer Nic Lawson, known for his work on Vigil (2021), Outlander (2014) and The Marvels (2023), for a two-day masterclass on the techniques used in the film industry.  In a series of workshops, Nic took the students on a journey through the art and craft of cinematography, sharing practical techniques and his creative approaches. Throughout the sessions, he discussed his journey from documentary and aerial cinematography to DOP ( Director of Photography) in film and television.  Students were thrilled to hear about his work on high profile projects and his collaborations with the best directors in the business  including Reed Morano, Barry Levinson and Guy Ritchie and they came away with an understanding of the challenges and rewards of visual storytelling.
